Description
We are looking for a Per Diem Recreation Therapist to plans, implement and coordinate activities and interventions for the development, maintenance and expression of appropriate social and leisure lifestyles of patients admitted to the Unit. The selected candidate will perform a variety of duties involved in carrying out recreation programs in assigned areas and assists in planning programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation or related field, required.
CTRS National Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC), required. OR CPRP through NRPA pending CTRS certification, required.
Prior experience as a Recreational Therapist, preferred.
Must have availability to work Sundays, afternoons and evenings

TITLE OF POSITION: Clinical Partner
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Clinical Partner will provide educational workshops on selected topics. The Clinical Partner will work closely with the Program Director in order to offer clinical consultations and support to FRC staff. The Clinical Partner will also serve as a liaison between the FRC and mental health providers in the community.
Responsibilities Include:
- Ø Responsible for providing clinical workshops on selected topics.
- Ø Will work closely with Program Director to offer clinical support to FRC Advocates.
- Ø Will serve as a liaison between FRC and mental health providers within the FRC zone.
- Ø Will assist FRC staff in identifying mental health and other supportive services available to families and youth.
- Ø The Clinical Partner will provide seminars for FRC staff on various topics to enhance their knowledge base regarding interventions, medications, diagnosis and other relevant topics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Clinical Partner will be a licensed social worker, psychologist or mental health clinician with potentially personal experience as a caregiver for a child with mental health issues. Experience facilitating groups and offering educational workshops preferred.

TITLE OF POSITION: Family Advocate
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Family Advocate is responsible for providing advocacy, supportive and educational services to families with youth who have serious emotional or behavioral challenges. Promotion of quality services, family empowerment, and provision of support to family members are central features of this position. Responsibilities include:
- Ø Working in collaboration with other staff members of the Family Resource Center to provide supportive services that meet the needs of children, youth and families.
- Ø Advocating with families within the community to assure that their needs are being met.
- Ø Outreach and presentations to schools, early intervention programs, clinics and other community based providers
- Ø Facilitate / Co-facilitate support groups
- Ø Organize and support social and recreational activities organized for families.
- Ø Work with socially, economically, culturally and ethnically diverse groups in a mutually respectful manner using a strength-based approach.
- Ø Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
- Ø Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Family Advocate must be a parent of a child with a serious emotional and / or behavioral challenge and have experience in navigating the mental health system as well as other child-serving and family serving systems. Experience in community organization, parent / group facilitation and computer skills are helpful. Family Advocate will be required to complete PEP training, Family Network Training, FDC Training, and Just the Basics Training, if they have not done so already.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Youth Advocate will be responsible for engaging youth and their families in order to assist them in identifying their needs as well as achieving their goals. The Youth Advocate will be an integral part of the Family Resource Center staff and will participate in supportive, recreational and educational activities offered to youth and families. Responsibilities include:
- · Work in collaboration with the Senior Family Advocate in engaging youth in planning their own care and having their voice heard.
- · Engage and support youth connected to the Family Resource Center.
- · Share personal knowledge and experiences about the youth serving system and resources available to youth.
- · Provide support to youth at community meetings and other meetings as needed.
- · Provide public education about youth mental health issues.
- · Assist in the organization of social, recreational and educational activities for youth.
- · Represent the interests of youth with emotional and behavioral challenges in a variety of public forums and advisory groups.
- · Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
- · Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Youth Advocate will be a young adult who has had emotional and / or behavioral challenges and experience receiving services from the children’s mental health or other child-serving systems. Has completed High School or a G.E.D program - some college preferred. Youth Advocate will receive basic training in empowerment, peer support, self-help, peer advocacy and systems advocacy 101 and 102 through YOUTH POWER’s “Getting Started – Introductory Advocacy Trainings for Youth and Young People.”
